Updated iPad Pro

Apple today updated its iPad Pro for faster processors, improved cameras, LiDAR Scanner, and upcoming support for a trackpad keyboard.

Apple today announced its most advanced iPad Pro. Now with the A12Z Bionic chip, iPad Pro is faster and more powerful than most Windows PC laptops. The new iPad Pro adds an Ultra Wide camera, studio-quality mics and a breakthrough LiDAR Scanner that delivers cutting-edge depth-sensing capabilities, opening up more pro workflows and supporting pro photo and video apps. The LiDAR Scanner, along with pro cameras, motion sensors, pro performance, pro audio, the stunning Liquid Retina display and powerful apps, extends the lead of iPad Pro as the world’s best device for augmented reality (AR).

The new iPad Pro is equipped with an A12Z Bionic process with eight-core GPU and eight-core CPU. The new camera system includes a 12 MP wide camera and a new 10 MP ultra-wide camera. Complementing the camera system is a LiDAR scanner to assist in measuring the distance of objects. The new sensor appears to lay the groundwork for new augmented reality features.

Apple also announced a new Magic Keyboard with a touchpad. Coupled with iOS 13.4, the new hardware will bring a new interface for the iPad Pro. The new Magic Keyboard is expected to start shipping in May. Pricing will be $349 for the 12.9-inch model and $299 for the 12.9-inch model.

The new iPad Pro is available now for presale and expected to ship starting next week. Pricing starts at $799 for the WiFi 11-inch model and $999 for the $12.9-inch model.
