iTunes Plus upgrades go a la carte
January 29th 2009
It turns out our friends at Apple really are (large grain of salt) our friends. Or, if your opinion of the Cupertino, CA based company comes with a veneer of reality, then we can at least say they have finally chosen to do the right thing.
Chris Breen (Macworld) reports that Apple's iTunes Plus upgrade program is now a la carte, meaning you won't be forced to upgrade every single track that you have ever purchased on the iTunes Store.
Here's what you need to do:
Travel to the iTunes Plus upgrade page (which you can do by clicking on the Upgrade To iTunes Plus link on the Store's Home page) and you'll discover that not only can you click on a large Buy All button to upgrade your entire protected collection, but you can now click Buy buttons next to the protected albums or tracks in your library.
Yes, upgrading to iTunes Plus 256Kbps, DRM-free format will still cost 30¢ per track, but now you don't have to endure the humiliation of paying twice for that Kid 'n Play album...
What's your take?
Choose from over 4.5-Million songs!
