New MacBook Pros on the horizon?


Traces of new Macs show up in latest builds of 10.6.

9to5mac.com relays some info from Spanish Apple site Applesana on what appears to be the next round of MacBook Pros. The site notes that in the latest build of Mac OS X 10.6.2 there are references to new MacBook Pro hardware. Currently 10.6.2 is in development and likely to be released in the next week or two to coincide with the release of the new Magic Mouse.

The reference itself just indicates a new MacBook Pro is in the pipeline, which is a safe assumption regardless. Its addition, however, may indicate a release in the near future, or at least before Mac OS X 10.6.3.

9to5mac also reports on sources that quad-processor MacBook Pros may be in the works. The site speculates the machines may see Core i5 or i7 processors.
