Targus introduces iPad screen protector
February 12th 2010
The train keeps rolling on iPad accessories. The latest entries this week are brought to us by long-time portable/mobile accessories maker Targus.
Targus this week announced a new screen protector cut for the iPad. The Targus Screen Protector with Clear View promises to protect the iPad screen from scratches and finger prints. The company's Clear View technology boasts an anti-glare treatment and is specially formulated to prevent bubbles and peeling. Targus says the application features microscopic ridges and valleys that work to dissipate fingerprint oil. The iPad will ship with an oleophobic coating, that accomplishes a similar task. The coating, however, does not offer glass protection and the film itself may wear over time.
The iPad product will join the company's current offering for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The company introduced its line of screen protectors in January. The Targus Screen Protector with Clear View for the iPad will ship in April. No pricing information is available.
