iPad accessories see shipping delays

If you're hoping to get specific iPad accessories from Apple for the iPad WiFi launch, that ship may have sailed.

Yesterday we noticed that the Apple branded iPad case slipped from shipping for April 3rd to now mid-April. When ordering, the case's current status says it will ship on April 15th for delivery on the 20th.

Other accessories too have slipped and it all has sort of become a story, so we'll play along too. 9 to 5 Mac notes that the keyboard dock now lists a general May ship date. The power adapter too now lists a May timeframe. The VGA adapter and iPad dock still lists a ship by April 3rd date. Still no word on the missing camera flash card reader.

This likely appears demand related, but perhaps we'll find out if there are any technical issues, particularly with the more complicated keyboard dock. Apple could just be sorting out inventory to not over-promise and things may adjust as we get closer to launch. Or it could get worse. 'Tis the trials and tribulations of early adopters.

Delays hit iPad accessories, more shortages to come?
