Apple to hold iPhone OS 4.0 event this Thursday


Apple is running full tilt. Just after the pushing out the iPad the company this week will show off iPhone OS 4.0.

Apple Monday sent out an invite giving a "sneak peek of the next generation of iphone OS software." The date is set for April 8th at 10 AM PDT on Apple's campus. The news will likely be shortly followed by a software development kit for app developers. This would then lead to a release likely this summer, giving developers times to get their apps in compliance. If Apple repeats previous iPhone OS releases we may see a near simultaneous iPhone launch.

The iPhone OS 4.0 will run on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.
