iPad's ABC Player gets update for 3G streaming support
May 4th 2010
Update allows low-bandwidth stream for 3G data connections.
When iPad 3G shipped, it was discovered that the ABC Player would not run while an iPad was connected via a wireless 3G network. The issue was Apple requires video streaming apps to have both a high and low bandwidth stream available. If no low bandwidth option is available, the app will only run in WiFi mode. ABC has updated the app to now provide a low-bandwidth option so all appears well once again.
Other fixes include improved handling for landscape and orientation lock, updated controls, and improved parental ratings. Other fixes include unspecified bug fixes.
