Apple extending reach w/ third-party cases

A new website promotes iPhone and iPad cases that the company directly sells. The website highlights design specifications cases must pass before Apple will sell a vendor's product. These specs relate to fit, drop tests, camera usage, audio usage, sensor usage, and wireless usage.

The affect is basically Apple can wield greater influence over third party products, which Apple customers clearly want. It seems if you want your product sold by Apple's high traffic retail arm, you will have to play ball. On the flip side, this would seem a way for Apple to ensure products are less likely to negatively affect customer's product experience.
