Office 2016 available for 365 Users

Microsoft Thursday released Office 2016 for Mac for those subscribed to 365. The update revamps Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, in addition to Outlook and OneNote.

Office for Mac is cloud-connected, so you can quickly get to the documents you've recently used on other devices and pick up where you left off. New, built-in document sharing tools make it easy to invite teammates to work on a document together. When sharing documents, you won't have to worry about losing content or formatting, as Office for Mac offers unparalleled compatibility with Office on PCs, tablets, phones and online.

Microsoft said those looking for the standard retail version will have to wait until September.

I've been playing around with the public betas and it does seem similar to the Windows counterpart. It seemed a little confusing to me, however, since it seems to use the ribbons from Windows, but also still extensively uses the Mac menu bar for similar tasks, or at least tasks that are in the ribbon in Windows. Other stuff was wonky, which can be expected with a beta, so hopefully stuff have been quickly ironed out.
