Mariner Write 3.1 beta now out
March 17th 2003
Mariner Software has announced the availability of Mariner Write 3.1 Public Beta, a preview version of Mariner's flagship product. Introducing breakthrough translation technology, Mariner has now integrated "read" functionality of Microsoft Word files. In addition, OS X Services support and contextual menu spelling suggestions have also been added.
"Our development team has put some major effort into this release," said Michael Wray, president. "In decoding the Microsoft Word proprietary format, we've learned why many developers don't have the resources to embark on such an endeavor; it's difficult and tedious, and not to mention incredibly time consuming.
"Mariner Write 3.1 will help free a good percentage of the Mac market from buying other higher priced word processors by allowing them to work with Word documents sent to them by colleagues or coworkers," Wray continued.
Mariner Write 3.1 Public Beta is available for download here and requires System 9.0 or higher.
Editor's note: Microsoft products are tedious and difficult? Say it ain't so...
