Apple reaches out to the 'dark side'
March 25th 2002
Apple has posted a new page to its site that asks rather directly for input from PC users that are considering making the switch to the Mac.
This web page asks, among other questions, "What sparked your interest and made you think about getting a Mac? Do you have questions or issues you need to resolve before you decide? If so, what would help you make up your mind to go for it? Also, do you have a specific time frame in mind for getting a Mac, like [say] within 1--3 months, 3--6 months, or 6-12 months?"
Perhaps a few of us can help Apple in its quest. Introduce your PC-using friends to this web page.
Analysis: Fundamentally, when all else fails, the direct approach often proves efficacious. This isn't to say that superbly positive press Cupertino is enjoying vis-a-vis the new iMac isn't winning converts, but going straight to the source for suggestions on how to win PC users over is a good idea whose time has come.
