Rumor: New FCP, DVDSP, Shake Coming at NAB?
April 13th 2005
AppleInsider reports that Apple is prepping new editions of Final Cut Pro, Motion, DVD Studio Pro and Shake, its high-end pro video applications.
These are expected to be announced - if not released - at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) conference next week, which Apple is toting as a big event for HD video.
AppleInsider also says that Apple has been working on a 'production suite' for professional video editors, which will bundle some of these applications together, along with another as-yet unknown application, at a discount. Adobe offers a similar package with applications such as InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
Analysis: Not unlikely, and this will consolidate Apple's dominance of high-end video production. We can probably expect upgrades of Final Cut Express sometime later, as the NAB isn't the place to release prosumer applications.
