30,000 iPhones Sold in France in 5 Days

Orange, Apple's carrier in France, has sold almost 30,000 iPhones inside five days, Telecom Paper (Netherlands) reports.
Orange launched the iPhone in France on November 29 through 680 Orange stores. and via phone ordering. 80% of customers activated the 'Orange for iPhone' plan, while 48% of customers were new to Orange. Depending on which of the four data plans chosen, the price ranges from €49 to €119 per month.
By law, unlocked iPhones are also available for retail purchase, although these are prohibitively expensive at €749.
