Firefox hits new highs
January 28th 2008
With rising Mac market share reports, largely emanating from the US, coming almost daily, the rest of us haven't been paying much attention to the other underdog internet success story--Firefox.
Here in the land of milk and honey, Firefox users account for about 15 percent on those measured online--a good number that's been rising steadily for years.
Leave it to our friends at Wired to ameliorate our ignorance about the wider world. Quoting fresh data from French web traffic analytics company XiTi, here's a snapshot of Firefox' share of the European browser mindspace:
• Finland 45.4 percent
• Poland 42.4
• Slovakia 42.2
• Hungary 40.3
• Estonia 37.3
• Greece 35.2
• Germany 34.2
• Romania 32.9
• Lithuania 32.9
• Austria 32.5
In truth, it's somewhat difficult to find (map) a country on the right side of the pond where fewer than one-in-five favor Firefox, which it has to be said is a good thing™...
What's your take?
