Mac production up
February 1st 2008
Quoting a Bank of America (BA) research note, Seeking Alpha reports that Asian production of Mac is up, iPods down and iPhone volatile.
Here are a few bullet points on the salient bits:
• Desktop and notebook production numbers up 20% from expectations in early January
• MacBook Air orders also increased slightly for March
• iPod order cut -5% from BA's earlier +5% guidance
• iPhone production bounces back, although still lackluster
Back of America rates AAPL a "buy" with a target price of $180.
Editor's note: I would be interested to know how the iPod touch is doing.
Nevertheless, Macs are still driving growth--think higher margins and add-on potential, and that's a good thing™...
