Lower SSD prices?
February 19th 2008
DigiTimes reports that NAND Flash prices continue to fall under pressure from falling orders from Apple.
Major NAND flash makers are chiefly supplying high capacity chips, which are coming under stronger pressure for price reductions than low capacity chips, the sources said, while adding that prices will continue to decrease through the end of the first quarter.
Naturally, one would expect hope that this trend will lead Apple to charge lower prices for the SSD drives it ships with the MacBook Air. Of course, lower-priced and / or higher-capacity iPods and iPhones would also seem a natural result, too...
