OS X 10.5.3 testing begins in earnest
March 28th 2008
Earlier this month, IGM repeated a rumor that posited that OS X 10.5.3 would arrive soon. However, that's obviously not going to happen as the first of likely many pre-release developer seeds has just been rolled out by Apple.
AppleInsider reports that OS X 10.5.3 Build 9D10 has been seeded widely to developers and testers.
Generically, 9D10 includes 75 bug fixes and code corrections, but specifically is said to deliver the following updated components: AddressBook, AppleScript, Audio, Back To My Mac, Dashboard, the Dock, DVD Player, Finder, Graphics, iCal, Mail, Portable Home Directories, Printing, Rosetta, Spaces, Spotlight, Time Machine and VoiceOver.

Of particular note is the correction of two critical memory leaks within CoreAnimation and iCal.
AppleInsider says that OS X 10.5.3 will be released sometime in April or May.
Editor's note: I've got no major beefs with OS X 10.5.2, which corrected a number of longstanding issues (ie slow graphics, browser slowdowns, etc). What do you want fixed and / or improved in the Apple's third Leopard update?
