Microsoft trumpets Office sales
May 13th 2008
Microsoft's Mac Business Unit has announced (CNN) that Office 2008 is the best-selling version of the benchmark office productivity suite in the past 19 years.
"The response has been amazing--since we launched in January, the velocity of sales for Office 2008 is nearly three times what we saw after the launch of Office 2004," said Craig Eisler, general manager, Mac BU.
Further, the Mac BU also introduced Service Pack 1 (SP1), which is said to offer stability, security and performance enhancements. Microsoft's also announced plans to reintroduce Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) in the next version of Office.
As of this writing, SP1 isn't available via either their download page or AutoUpdate.
