100K iPhones sold in Germany
May 15th 2008
Dow Jones (CNN), which we assume didn't rely on a machine translation of their source's statements, reports that Deutsche Telekom CEO Rene Obermann said that his company's wireless subsidiary, T-Mobile, has sold 100,000 iPhones.
Deutsche Telekom board member Hamid Akhavan told Dow Jones that the sales figures for the iPhone are "about in line" with the company's internal targets. Akhavan also said that the current price reduction of the device had boosted sales.
The iPhone went on sale in Germany on November 9 of last year. In January, T-Mobile said it had sold 70,000 iPhones.
Editor's note: "About in line" sounds an awful lot like, "Disappointing."
