Apple AirPods wireless headphones

It's natural Apple would be introducing wireless headphones with the new iPhone. With the iPhone 7/7 Plus, Apple takes a big step away from wires, even though it's shipping wired headphones and a dongle with the phones as a transition.

The small single piece earphones feature a new Apple silicon its calling the W1 chip and offers some sleek features.

AirPods eliminate the hassles of wireless headphones, by just flipping open the lid of its innovative charging case and with one tap, they are instantly set up and ready to work with your iPhone and Apple Watch. Advanced sensors know when you are listening and automatically play and pause your music. Using Siri, AirPods allow you to access your favorite personal assistant with just a double tap. This revolutionary experience is enabled by the new ultra-low power Apple W1 chip, which enables AirPods to deliver high-quality audio and industry-leading battery life in a completely wireless design.

The earbuds are expected to ship late October for $159. They require iOS 10, watchOS 3 and macOS Sierra.

The design looks cool and I like the charger case. The sensor features look interesting also. My biggest beef though is the existing EarPods aren't that comfortable for me, nor do they really sit securely in my ears. If the AirPods fit is similar, I could see one falling out on the street or something.

Apple-owned Beats is also introducing an over the ear, sport, and earbud models also utilizing Apple's W1 chip.
