Apple discounts USB-C adapters through end of year

Apple appears to be trying to minimize one of the gripes with the new MacBook Pro. With only USB-C connectors, buyers likely will need a collection of dongles to get their existing input/output devices working.

Buzzfeed:

In a statement to BuzzFeed News, the company said: "We recognize that many users, especially pros, rely on legacy connectors to get work done today and they face a transition. We want to help them move to the latest technology and peripherals, as well as accelerate the growth of this new ecosystem. Through the end of the year, we are reducing prices on all USB-C and Thunderbolt 3 peripherals we sell, as well as the prices on Apple's USB-C adapters and cables."

Ideally USB-C will become the new standard, but until then, there will be a stop-gap of cables and adapters. I think Apple should have included a legacy USB to USB-C adapter. That would cover a lot off issues, including connecting the just-released iPhone 7.
